Crystal Blue Diving’s Operational Protocol to Mitigate Virus Transmission
The safety of our customers and staff continues to be our primary concern. Crystal Blue Diving has adopted the following guidelines, procedures, recommendations and products from the Center for Disease Control, Divers Alert Network and approved products from the EPA.
General:
· All high traffic/high-touch areas in the store will be regularly cleaned/disinfected with an EPA registered disinfect product in compliance with manufacturer’s application instructions.
· As per the Governor’s order: All customers and staff will be required to wear a mask when in the store, when social distancing cannot be maintained.
· Customers will need to maintain 6 foot social distancing while in-store.
· Hand sanitizer will be located at various locations throughout the store.
· We will provide cleaning and sanitation products to clean/sanitize items that a customer may touch or try on for size and fit. All touched items will be re-cleaned afterwards.
· We can also accommodate private appointments upon request.
Staff:
· All staff member’s temperature will be checked upon arrival. Any staff member who’s temperature is 100.4 F or greater, will not be permitted to work.
· If a staff member does not feel well they should stay at home.
· All staff members will be required to wear a mask when in the store or classroom, when social distancing of 6 feet cannot be maintained.
Classroom:
· Students and staff will be required to allow a Crystal Blue Diving staff member to check their temperature upon arrival, using a no-touch thermometer. Any student, or staff member who’s temperature is 100.4 F or greater, will not to be able to participate in class.
· Any staff member or student that does not feel well should stay home.
· All students and staff will be required to wear a mask when in the store or classroom, when social distancing cannot be maintained.
· All high traffic/high-touch areas in the store and classroom will be regularly cleaned/disinfected with an EPA registered disinfectant in compliance with manufacturer’s application instructions.
· Classes will be limited to 4 students. If a family group is larger, class size can be increased to 6 if all members have been living together in the same household.
· All SCUBA equipment that is used during the classroom portion of the class will be cleaned and disinfected with an EPA registered disinfectant in compliance with manufacturer’s application instructions, prior to and upon completion of the class.
Pool:
· All students and staff will be required to wear a mask while at the pool, when social distancing cannot be maintained.
· Social distancing will be maintained while on the pool deck and at the surface when in the pool.
· Additional protocols and procedures may be added by YMCA and/or other locations.
· Direct from the CDC: There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, or water playgrounds. Additionally, proper operation of these aquatic venues and disinfection of the water (with chlorine or bromine) should inactivate the virus. See CDC link:
Lake Dives:
· All students and staff will be required to wear a mask while at the lake, when social distancing cannot be maintained.
· Social distancing will be maintained while on land and at the surface of the water.
Rental Gear:
All SCUBA rental equipment that is rented or used during the classroom, pool and/or lake portion of the class will be cleaned and disinfected with an EPA registered disinfectant, in compliance with the manufacturer’s application instructions, prior to and upon completion of the class or rental. Regulator second stage, alternate second stage and low-pressure inflators will be sanitized with a disinfectant registered with the CDC.
